How did you two meet?
We met on eHarmony.
How did he pop the question?
In a cabin in Colorado. You should have the full story from your other form.How did you choose your theme? Flowers? and overall wedding design?
I’m from a small town so a rustic barn wedding seemed appropriate, and it’s the only theme I’ve ever really pictured so we went with it!
What was the best moment{s} of your wedding day?
Pick just one?! Hmm, probably waking up to a hand written note that he slid underneath my hotel room door saying how he couldn’t wait to marry me. It set the tone for the whole day and I was so excited to see him at our first look.
How would you describe your overall wedding experience?
Absolutely perfect! Everything looked just like I thought it would/planned for so long. There were no big hiccups (that I knew about anyway), and everyone had a blast so I couldn’t ask for a better wedding day.
What photography related advice would you offer to a couple?
If there’s a certain pose or spot you’d love to take pictures at, let it be known. Bring your own props or make suggestions. You only get one chance at these pics!
Tell me about your dress. Where did you find it, how did you choose it, how did you know it was the one?
I found it at Davids Bridal. I picked all these dresses I thought I liked and started to try them on. Then the sales associate said she had one that I might like. She brought it back and I saw it had polka dots on it, and was like “ummmm, I don’t know if that’s me.” She said try it on anyway and from the moment she zipped me up I was sold. I walked out and my MOH and mom loved it. She then added a sparkly belt and I was for sure done at that point. Loved it!
How was your experience taking photos/working with me on your wedding day?
We loved it! You were so fun and laid back, making our wedding day much less stressful! You never rushed us or made us feel uncomfortable in any way.
Did you see each other before the wedding? If not, did you like waiting or would you have rather done it differently? Tell me why or why not!
We did a first look and I thought it was the best way to do it because it helped calm the nerves and jitters of the day. It was our moment and still very special.
Any tips on how to prepare for the wedding photos?
Find your best side and stick with it! You’re going to be full of smiles all day so you’ll look gorgeous no matter what so don’t worry about it.
What were you most anxious, nervous or fearful about regarding your wedding day and what was the outcome?
I was really nervous about saying my vows in front of everyone. My heart was pounding when I was walking down the aisle, but once I held Randall’s hand and focused on what the officiant was saying all my nerves calmed down and I somehow sounded normal when speaking. And I avoided crying and ruining my makeup!
Any tips that you have about preparing your wedding party for the photos? What did you tell them, how did you get them to cooperate, what did you do or what would you have done differently?
I just told them to have fun, and be serious when you need to be.
What do you want to always remember from your wedding day?
I hope I always remember how content and happy we were once we walked down the aisle as Mr. and Mrs. for the first time. The whole day was so joyful and beautiful for so many people- I hope that memory stays with me!
“IF I only I knew!” what is one piece of advise you would give to brides planning their wedding day?
If anything get a Day of Coordinator. I planned my whole wedding which was a fantastic experience, but it’s not worth the hassle to be the go to person the day of. Let someone else handle that and you have a good time!
