Casa Monica Wedding Photography in St. Augustine, Florida

Talia and Todd got married at a beautiful ceremony overlooking the pool at the historic Casa Monica in St. Augustine, Florida. One of my favorite parts of Casa Monica photography is the amazing light in the hotel rooms! Seriously, yummy light is what its all about, and I cant stress that enough when you are getting ready!  Surrounded by friends and family, these two had an absolute blast! We got to spend extra time with them because these two did a first look, one of my favorite parts of the wedding day {and this brides too}!

Todd and Talia, thank you so much for allowing us to photograph your beautiful wedding at the Casa Monica. You two were so amazing to work with- Talia, still dreaming of your ring, and your shoes! I hope that you two had as much as fun as we did, and that every day of your married life is as fabulous as your wedding day!

How did you two meet? We met in law school. We were friends first and finally started dating our second year of law school.

How did he pop the question? We took a weekend trip to Chicago. Todd surprised me with a private helicopter tour of the city and proposed mid-flight.

How did you choose your theme? Flowers? and overall wedding design? We are minimalists and didn’t want any bold colors. We chose lots of white with black and gold accents because we thought they were classic colors. The flowers were also classic and all-white.

What was the best moment{s} of your wedding day? We loved getting to spend time with our bridal parties before the ceremony. Being with our friends and laughing like any normal day made the day so special. We also loved seeing all our friends and family!

How would you describe your overall wedding experience? We had the best experience at our wedding! Although there was so much going on, it felt just like a warm family gathering with all our closest relatives and loved ones.

What photography related advice would you offer to a couple? DO A FIRST LOOK! It calmed our nerves and ensured we got all the shots we wanted, without feeling rushed.

Tell me about your dress. Where did you find it, how did you choose it, how did you know it was the one? I only went to White Magnolia (San Marco location) to look for dresses. The Modern Trousseau dress I chose was the first dress I tried on that day. After trying on many more dresses, I quickly realized it was the one! It was classic (our theme), but modern. I also knew Todd would love it.

How was your experience taking photos/working with me on your wedding day? We had the best experience working with you on our wedding day! You were direct and made sure the photos ran on time. You also kept us laughing and went along with all our perverted jokes 🙂

Any tips on how to prepare for the wedding photos? We liked taking our engagement photos with you. That helped us get to know you and understand what the day-of would be like.
