Alex and Blakes sunset wedding was the perfect way to end the Summer! Friends and Family gathered at the River House in St. Augustine to celebrate these two, and the beginning of their lives together. Alex started at a fabulous home on the water, that the family had rented for this destination wedding. Alex got ready at the River House, and I have to say, for the first time, I was stumped by a bow tie! I think the entire bridal party {and then some} tried tying poor Alex’s tie!
The Couple did a first look, which I am always a fan of when the couple has planned a sunset wedding. This one was especially sweet, what with the tears, and the joy these two had in having a few minutes of alone time. After the ceremony, we grabbed a few more images of the couple at sunset {the absolute best time of the day}, and then headed back for one HECK of a party! I love to watch my gator alum’s partying it up! And this crew did not disappoint! Alex and Blake had a fabulous formal leaving, filled with bubbles, and screaming after they finished dancing the night away.
Alex and Blake- thank you! Thank you for allowing me to be a part of your amazing wedding day, and the beginning of your lives together. If your wedding day was any indication, you two are in for an amazing adventure!

How did you two meet?
We meet through a mutual friend (MOH Mercedes Edridge) our senior year at the University of Florida. We had been in the same place throughout our four years at UF, but never formally introduced until our senior year.
How did he propose?
Blake came down from DC to celebrate Christmas in Gainesville. Blake had arranged for us to go to our favorite restaurant. While we were getting ready he took out the dogs on a walk before our dinner. I was still getting ready when the doorbell rang. When I went to open the door it was Blake with posters and caroling music. He had poster cards (like from Love Actually) telling how he felt and the last cards read “by this time next year” “I hope to be married to you” and then he dropped to one knee and proposed!
How did you choose your theme? Flowers? and overall wedding design?
Wanted something simple and classic. We decided to go with a lavender purplish, sage and ivory throughout our wedding theme.
What was the best part of your wedding day?
Getting to see all of our favorite people and share this special day with them.
What do you want to always remember from your wedding day?
The energy and love!
“IF I only I knew!” what is one piece of advise you would give to brides planning their wedding day?
Be flexible! Trying to control everything is not worth it.
And where are you going on your honeymoon?
We are hoping to go to the Maldives in December!
