The day started perfect, not a cloud in the sky…but I knew what was coming. Being in the tropics, I kept an eye on the weather all day, I knew it would rain. And rain it did, all day, but nothing would put a damper on this day. As the time neared for the ceremony, the clouds parted, and I was able to photograph Lauren and her maids, it was the perfect glint of sunshine. The most important thing to Lauren was to get married with the ocean in the background- and luckily we made it through the ceremony, and their shoot together, before the heavens opened. When I say rain, well that is a mild understatement. But, the couple and their entourage danced and partied, ate and were merry, and no one cared. I know that I say couples were happy on their wedding day, but the smiles these two had for each other…well they lit up the place. So, I guess we did not really need the hot Duck key sun anyways!
Lauren and Chris- Thank you- for allowing me to be part of your magical day, to all your friends and family for welcoming me into the crew, and making me feel like part of you day. It was amazingly, perfectly, beautiful! Congratulations!!

How did you two meet?
We met at Ragtime through a mutual friend then happened to bump into each other the next night. Then bumped into each other everyday there after 😉
How did he propose?
He proposed on my bday (friday -jan 6) and I had no idea. He had actually planned to pop the question the next night at my bday dinner but we had to move everything up a day when we heard one of my dear friends had planned to propose Saturday night. (Great minds thing alike apparently) So on Friday afternoon Chris called my dad (who I work with) to basically kick me out of the office a little early so that he could take me to the beach. When I got home chris had the bikes loaded up with bocce ball and wine rolled up in a towel – which I thought was a nice little bday surprise – little did I know he was going to drop down on one knee half way through our bocce ball game! 🙂
How did you choose your theme? Flowers? and overall wedding design?
Gotta love Pinterest! I wanted to do something different. Succulents had never really been done before (at least at the weddings i had attended) and Chris and I both love the beach and the whole driftwood look. Originally we were supposed to be outside around a pool and I thought candle-lit lanterns would be beautiful. Patricio nailed it!
