Paige + Tom :: Jacksonville Golf and Country Club Wedding
Living in Florida, we all know the possibility of it raining on your wedding day. So, when it happens, I love a bride who can just let loose, take it in stride, and go with the flow anyway! That’s exactly what kind of bride Paige was and she was stunning! Her & Tom’s wedding day at Jacksonville Golf & Country Club was still just as gorgeous and as FUN as ever, rain or shine, nothing was holding these two love birds back. With her bridal party adorned in purples and her cascading bouquet of flowers by Liz Stewart Floral Design , this group was easy to photograph! I loved being part of your day Paige & Tom. Wishing you nothing but years of happiness!
We met at Florida State University exactly 6 years from our wedding day. Tom was in a coed service fraternity with my best friend and roommate, and I met him in my living room! 🙂
How Did He Pop The Question?
I (Tom) completely surprised her. Us and a group of our close friends rented a house in Orlando for the weekend, and while my original plan was to propose on our planned hot air balloon ride, it was too windy to go up in the air the following morning (Saturday). So plan B was sprung into action: While on the way down to Orlando, me and my guy friends stopped to get a dozen roses and a vase to bring to the rental. I was in constant contact with her bridesmaid to get the timing right since the girls arrived later than us guys. I had all the guys hide upstairs as Paige entered the house and got down on one knee to propose. After she said “yes” I yelled Go Noles and all of the guy friends ran downstairs to congratulate us and start the celebration for the weekend.
How Did You Choose Your Overall Wedding Design?
We went with our personalities and what we like. I love purple and lots of bling- and that carried throughout our overall wedding design and theme. We’ve always said Tom is my Prince Charming and that I’m his Princess so the Cinderella cake topper was a play off that. Us meeting at Florida State was why we had his groom’s cake in FSU colors, and why our golf cart was decorated in Florida State gear.
What Was The Best Moment of Your Wedding Day?
For us, the best part was when we could finally relax, and dance and celebrate with our friends and families. Tom said when the pastor stated “You may kiss your bride”.
How Would You Describe Your Overall Wedding Experience?
It went by SO fast! Enjoy every second of it! We were blown away with how beautiful the reception area came out!
Tell Me About Your Dress! Where Did You Find It & How Did You Know It Was The One?
I found it at Bridals and More in Jacksonville (Miriam is AMAZING and so sweet!). It was our third or fourth bridal boutique and actually the smallest- but it had the perfect dress. It was the first dress I put on that combined all the elements I loved- my bling, not so big I couldn’t walk in it- or so tight I had to waddle haha, but also the classic elegance and romance because it was in the color Antique Silver. I was struggling deciding between a contemporary or vintage dress and I think I found the perfect balance of both!
Any Tips On How To Prepare For Wedding Photos?
The engagement shoot definitely helped us be comfortable in front of the camera and with Kelly.
We Love Hearing About Vendors You Love, Were There Any That Stood Out For You On Your Wedding Day?
We really enjoyed Jason who was our DJ from Footloose Entertainment, and we got so many compliments from our guests about his personality and his choice in music! Also, we LOVED our cakes from “Just Cakes LLC”
What were you most anxious, nervous or fearful about regarding your wedding day and what was the outcome?
RAIN! And we saw how that turned out haha. My biggest fear was the weather ruining our photos and ceremony. While the ceremony did have to be moved indoors, we still managed to get the shots we wanted on the golf course. As a matter of fact, we hardly had to do any photo’s inside!
Any tips that you have about preparing your wedding party for the photos? What did you tell them, how did you get them to cooperate, what did you do or what would you have done differently?
We spoke to all the family that would be in the formal shots at the rehearsal dinner so they knew to stay close by and not go to the cocktail hour until the pictures were finished. It was a bit more mayhem since we weren’t in the original area we were supposed to be with the rain but overall it went smoothly and quickly with the help of you all! 🙂
What do you want to always remember from your wedding day?
I’ll always remember Tom’s face as we locked eyes when I was coming down the aisle. Tom said when he saw me for the first time when the doors opened.
And where are you going on your honeymoon?
A fabulous two week trip to Italy this May! From Rome we are taking an 11 day cruise to Turkey, Greece, and Naples.
