Adore! These two were so amazingly fabulous to work with! We had such a great time and enjoyed every minute- especially their first look- one of the most emotional ones that I have been a part of! Thanks Tima and Eric for allowing me to tell your love story- you two are beyond fabulous!!

How did you two meet?
We met through mutual friends while out one night. The sparks were instant. However, it took a month to make it official. That was 7 years ago.
How did he propose?
We came to St. Augustine for the first time for a weekend getaway to celebrate Erica’s birthday (Note: This really threw me off â?? on his birthday weekend?! â?? He did a great job fooling me!) We had never been there before so we had a weekend packed with exploring the town.
On the last day, Sunday afternoon 6/(6/26/11), we are hanging poolside at the Casa Monica, FINALLY getting to rest, we had been go-go-go all weekend, it was nice to just lay in the cabanas and relax! After a while, Eric suggested that we go upstairs, get ready and go out to one more sightseeing attraction before going to dinner. I was confused, I thought we had seen everything! Another spot? I insisted that it could wait until tomorrow before we left. But, he convinced me that it would be nice to go see it before sunset and then go to dinner. I. Had. No. Idea. What. Was. Coming. We are walking down the cobblestone alleys to get to the place that Eric could not wait to show me, The Mission of Nombre de Dios.
After crossing this cute, little, white bridge, we make our way down to the waters edge. Just walking and talking, relaxed and enjoying the views. We make it to the very tip of the point and we are now beneath the 200 foot iron cross. It was really breathtaking. Best part, we were totally alone. As I am looking over the little iron fence that separated the cross from the water, I feel Eric come up behind me and put him arm around me. He begins to say, “So what do you think about spending the rest of your life with me?” He’s ON ONE KNEE. I am speechless. Instantly the water works begin. NO WAY. I am over the moon. I cannot breathe. All I kept thinking is YES!, although it took some time to get it out! Words cannot describe this moment.
Afterwards, after many tearful phone calls, we head back to the center of town for a wonderfully romantic dinner. The proposal, the night, the entire weekend could not have been more perfect, more beautiful.
How did you choose your theme? Flowers? and overall wedding design? We really liked the antique essence that was naturally felt in St. Augustine so we played off that. We wanted a nice mix of antique-classic and relaxed-chic. (These might not be real design descriptions but it’s what I was going for!) Most importantly SIMPLE and sweet. The flowers we chose were simple white hydrangeas-all around, from the bouquets to the centerpieces. I’ve always loved them, easy elegance!
What was the best part of your wedding day?
There were so many moments that we still smile about but there were certainly a few that shined a little more. First, seeing each other for the first time and doing the first look, it was emotional, private and just what we needed, that time alone before the day really got going. Second would have to be the ceremony and feeling like we were the only ones on the rooftop that day. Another amazing moment was doing our “last dance” together in The White Room to Band of Horses, “No ones gonna love you”. The room was completely empty and we got to really let everything sink in and reflect on the day. We liked that dance even better than our first dance.
What do you want to always remember from your wedding day?
We want to always remember everyone’s love, well wishes and smiles. We want to remember the dancing and laughing and enjoying our guests. Everyone was so special to us. The speeches, the singing… Most importantly we want to remember why we were there and what our vows meant, how they sealed us as one. We will always have the cord of three stands that we braided during our ceremony hanging in our home to remind us of that lovely day.
“IF I only I knew!” what is one piece of advise you would give to brides planning their wedding day?
That the day really does go by so fast. I had always heard that it would and I somehow thought that it would be different for me, but no. It does go fast. So savor every moment and take time to step away from it all to really look in at the party and see all of your hard work!
And where are you going on your honeymoon? We went to Peter Island in the BVI. It is a small boutique resort near Tortola. The epitome of sun, privacy, romance and luxury!
